Terms of service
Last updated 23 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between PaidUp and the business that opens an account (“you”). By creating an account or using PaidUp, you accept them. Please also read our privacy policy.
1. What PaidUp does
PaidUp sends reminder emails about unpaid business-to-business invoices on your behalf, reads invoice PDFs, tracks bills you owe, can detect payments made through your own Stripe payment links and shows reports about your invoices. PaidUp is a software tool: it is not a debt collection agency, a law firm or an accountant, and nothing in it is legal or financial advice.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and use PaidUp for a business, not as a consumer.
- Keep your login details safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account, including what team members you invite do there.
- The information you give us, such as your business name and reply-to address, must be accurate.
3. Trial, plans and payment
- New accounts get a free 14-day trial with no card needed. Reminders pause when it ends unless you choose a plan.
- Plans are billed monthly in advance: Freelance €14.99, Business €34.99 and Pro €79 a month. What each plan includes is shown on our pricing and in your settings.
- Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record and adds any VAT due. Its own terms apply to the payment.
- You can cancel at any time; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. We don't refund part-used months unless the law requires it.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. The new price applies from your next billing period after the notice ends, and you can cancel before then.
4. Using PaidUp responsibly
You agree that you will:
- Only chase genuine invoices that are actually owed to you, for business-to-business sales.
- Have the right to contact the people you add and to share their details with us, and use PaidUp in line with data protection law.
- Not use PaidUp to harass, threaten or mislead anyone, to chase consumers, to send marketing or spam, or to send anything unlawful.
- Check that late-payment interest and compensation quoted in your reminders are correct for each invoice before they go out. PaidUp calculates them from the rules for Ireland or the UK, but you are responsible for what you claim.
- Check the details PaidUp reads from your PDFs before saving them. Automatic reading, including reading with AI, can make mistakes.
- Not try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get around the limits of the service.
We may suspend reminders or an account that breaks these rules, and will tell you why.
5. Emails sent on your behalf
Reminders go out under your business name, from our address or from your own domain once it is verified, and replies go to your inbox. We do our best to deliver every email, but we can't guarantee that a client receives, reads or acts on a reminder, or that your client pays.
6. Your data
You own the data you put into PaidUp. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the service. You can delete invoices and bills at any time, delete your whole account in Settings, and ask us for a copy of your data by emailing [email protected]. How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep PaidUp running all the time but can't promise it will never be interrupted, for example during maintenance or problems with our providers. We may improve or change features; if we remove something important you pay for, we will tell you in advance.
8. Liability
- PaidUp is provided as it is. We are not responsible for invoices that stay unpaid, for losses caused by content you put into reminders, or for indirect losses such as lost profit or business.
- Our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid us in those 12 months.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
9. Data processing terms
Where we process personal data about your clients, suppliers or team members for you, you are the controller and we are your processor. In line with Article 28 of the GDPR (and the UK GDPR), we:
- process it only on your documented instructions, which are these terms and how you use PaidUp;
- make sure everyone who can access it is bound by confidentiality;
- protect it with the security measures described in our privacy policy;
- only use the sub-processors listed in our privacy policy, with contracts that protect the data in the same way, and tell you before adding or replacing one so you can object;
- help you answer requests from people exercising their data rights, and with security and breach duties;
- tell you without undue delay if we become aware of a personal data breach affecting your data;
- delete the data when your account is closed (backups expire within 30 days), unless the law requires us to keep it;
- give you the information you reasonably need to show these obligations are met.
10. Ending the agreement
You can stop using PaidUp, cancel your plan and delete your account at any time. We can end the agreement with 30 days' notice, or straight away if you seriously break these terms. When the agreement ends, reminders stop and your data is deleted as described above. Ask us before closing if you want a copy.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For important changes we will email account owners at least 30 days before they take effect; if you keep using PaidUp after that, the new terms apply.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. If you are based in the UK, you may also bring a claim in the courts of your part of the UK.
